Career vs College

Future Build is free! Tuition & fees for a four-year private college average $35,830 in 2018-2019! At four-year in-state public colleges, it was $10,230, according to the US College Board. This doesn't account for room & board and other expenses!

Time Investment

Future Build is a 16-week, intensive training program offered at no cost to low income East Contra Costa County Residents. Program hours are 7:30 am to 3 p.m., Monday-Friday. Successful graduates will earn eight (8) industry recognized certificates in the 16 weeks, debt free!

Diversified Training

Future Build offers Home Builders Institutes Construction Technology & Multi Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) training in traditional construction, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. In addition, specialized certificates in solar, alternative energy, Hazwoper 40, Refinery Safety, and All Terrain Forklift.

Environmental Training

Complimenting Future Build’s 16-week pre-apprenticeship, Environmental Training combines the concepts and curriculum of construction, community benefit projects, and the additional union level certifications in alternative energy, environmental mitigation and manufacturing.

Job Placement & Assistance

With 90% placement rate in the fields of training. Future Build Employability Workshops offer resume development, interview techniques, employment goals, employment applications, and online personality employment tests. We work with other agencies for employment opportunities

Employment Possiblities

Successful Future Build graduates are employed at Tesla, East Bay Municipal Utilities District, Shell Refinery, Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery and more. They gain opportunities in various fields as hazardous materials handlers, flaggers, solar installers, computer industry technicians, machinist, airline mechanics and much more

Home Builders Institute Training

Our Home Builders Institute (HBI) training prepares students for building careers. With our pre-apprenticeship program, the hands-on and academics skills needed in the industry are covered extensively.

Multi Craft Core Curriculum

Our Multi Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) training covers tools, materials, health, saftey and more along the Future Build 16 week pre-apprenticeship. Students are prepped to graduate and earn careers working as skilled construction workers.

Solar Installation

Future Build East County students gain hands-on experience applying solar installation projects for both residential and commercial properties. The curriculum covers classroom lecture and hands-on installation instruction.
